Sustainable Home Textile Trends for 2026 Buyers
Retail buyers are increasingly asking suppliers for sustainability documentation alongside price and quality. In home textiles, three trends stand out for 2026: certified organic cotton (GOTS), low-impact or natural dyeing processes, and a shift toward handloom and khadi fabrics that support rural artisan employment.
Panipat, India's textile recycling and weaving hub, has also become a center for recycled cotton products, giving buyers an additional sustainability story for cushion covers, throws, and rugs made from repurposed fiber.
When sourcing, ask your supplier for the specific certification body and license number rather than a general "eco-friendly" claim, and request dye-fastness test reports for any product line marketed on its natural-dye story.
